Following the success of last month’s 27Names virtual meeting, our partners met again to provide agency updates and ideas for continuing to tackle the current situation impacting the event and live communication industry throughout Europe.
What should your agency be doing now to make sure you not only come out on the other side, but come out stronger? As one of our partners put it, it doesn’t matter who you were before the crisis, but who you’re becoming.
“Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow.” –William Pollard
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the ways our partners are working hard on making the most of the constraints the crisis has placed on our businesses. As always, please feel free to get in touch if you’re in need of a consult. We’re happy to help!
– As many agencies rush to join the virtual event race (or as Rob Blasko recently put it during an Eventex presentation, “Everyone’s chasing that livestream dream.)” keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Get creative with ways you can create an incredible hybrid event experience. The key to success will be finding innovate ways to engage a digital audience while in a physical arena. New apps and technology will be necessary in order to elevate your offer.
– Invest in both new and existing talent. At a time when many agencies are unfortunately downsizing their staff, now is an ideal opportunity to recruit top talent who otherwise would not have been available.
-For your existing team, provide learning opportunities via online classes to strengthen existing skills, and encourage team members to try things out of their comfort zones.
– Share the burden. Instead of letting employees go, consider the possibility of the entire team taking a temporary pay reduction to keep everyone employed.
-What can your agency do for the good of others? We’ve been so impressed with the show of solidarity we’ve seen throughout our industry, with many looking for ways to contribute their time and talent for the greater good. You’ll be hearing more about what some of our own 27Names agencies have been up to in this regard next week, so stay tuned!
